    Hennessy Hammock ?

    Hello,
I am about to buy a Hennssey Hammock and wanted to ask this question about hanging the hammock in regards to swapping out the tree straps for the ENO Atlas slap straps.
The reason is I want to hang the hammock with carabiners instead of the usuall knot.
Also could I use the tree straps that come with the hammock and just use them to attach the carabiners ?
I am stoked going to a hammock.
I will be using this for my Thru-Hike of the AT next year.
Not interested in any other set up just use of the carabiners to make for a fast set up.
No more ground dwelling for me.
Thank you for your time and help.

    Hennessy Hammock ?

Some people have had the slap straps stretch on em. I have never had experience with them so do some additional research. Best of luck

i use carabiners thru the loops in my HH straps w/o issues

however, i have switched to WHOOPIES from the stock rope & connect them to the HH w/ a DOG BONE and a STAINLESS STEEL RING to connect them

i might suggest you do some more research on suspensions b4 settling on any one system or combination of components

you would be quite surprised at the weight & pack volume you can save for little or no $$

not to mention the fun of developing your own personal rig

If Hennessy is what you've settled as your 1st camping hammock, you may want to wait until the October sale, 50%+ off, I picked up a super shelter and a Explorer UL for about what the hammock retails for.

I use carabiners on my Hennessy as well, makes set up a breeze. I also tried the slap straps, if you like to hang high, they're good for a few hours. If you like to hang low, you'll be up quite often tightening them up. The only good thing about the slap straps are the loops sewn in at intervals so you can adjust the hammock with just the click of a carabiner

Get the Hennessey. I did. Use the stock harness, the knot tying is super easy. Read more and de IDE if you want cinch buckles, carabiners, whoopie slings or whatever trips your tree hanging. I didn't mind the stock suspension but did swap out to a set of Dutch's camo straps...long ones, Dutch buckles, whoopie slings and this is a super solid and fast setup.

    Best of hanging.

IMO the way to go if you are going to swap out the suspension for ease and speed is the ring buckle/strap system. It's "old school" in a way but essentially there is one connection to be made with a biner and some adjustment which comes with any system. Lots of folks go with the whoopies but I can't see the benefit for the way _I_ camp. If you want to be a gram weenie they make sense but then again if you want to be a gram weenie you'll lose the slap straps in a hurry.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.
