Does anyone have any suggestions on where to buy the fabric Momentum. I want to make another underquilt and I want it to be as light as possible

I'm pretty sure the Momentum is a Thru-hiker exclusive.
“Light thinks it travels faster than anything but it is wrong. No matter how fast light travels, it finds the darkness has always got there first, and is waiting for it." -Terry Pratchett
Thru-Hiker lists the weight of Momentum as 0.9, but one member here (Schneiderlein I believe) actually weighed a sample as delivered and the weight came out as 1.2 oz/sq yd. I believe the 0.9 quoted is really the weight of the base fabric before the DWR treatment is applied. That is pretty typical and that's why 1.1 silnyl is actually 1.3.
The 1.1 nylon ripstop from Rockywoods or Thru-Hiker is actually lighter than Momentum. We have some from both and the actual delivered weight is slightly over 1.1 oz/sq yd.
Also, Ed Speer sells ripstop nylon at the lowest price and the fabric we got from him is also slightly over 1.1 oz.sq yd.
All were slightly less than the 1.2 oz/sq yd of the sample that Schneiderlein reported for Momentum.
Somebody wrote (Take-A-Knee I believe) that the DWR treatment for Momentum is supposed to be better than ordinary DWR treatment. So that is probably the real benefit of Momentum, not the weight.
It would seem to me that for Hammock use, getting the best possible DWR treatment isn't as important as for ground use.
So if weight is important to you, you would be better using the regular 1.1 nylon ripstop - plus saving some money .
I haven't felt Momentum, but all of the 1.1 nylon ripstops we got from Rockywoods, Thru-Hiker and Ed all feel very soft and silky.

i don't think it's that the treatment is better than all others, just that it's a high quality dwr. it supposedly has a tighter weave which helps too, but i don't know you'd notice a difference compared to high quality 1.1 with a good dwr.
Well huh. Interesting data, thanks. I am using some mom-90 on a quilt right now. Wish I had weighed it. Thought I did on the first piece I used a while ago and would have noticed a larger than expected weight. Maybe I imagined it....

Okay I did a search, like I should have done first, and it wasn't Schneiderlein, but I Splice.
The thread is here
I don't recall posting a weight for momentum. I just measured a piece and it came out to 1.1 oz/yd^2.
So my best bet is to get an uncoated 1.1 ripstop?

I made a quilt for my daughter out of Momentum and a Kinsman Pullover and it is the best feeling material that I have ever used ...... no matter what the weight I know my next quilt will be made of it. Sweet stuff.......
