In my opinion, speeding up the conversation by hiding threads takes us away from that atmosphere.
Granted it would allow you to speed thru the threads, but I'm not sure that is why we are here..

Love these campfire conversations. True these folks get in my head but there is plenty of room since all those years of the work world are gone, gone, gone. And it is so neat to meet in person at group hangs the people I have learned so much from on HF.

    Off Topic or Trivial Posts

I probably access the forum from my phone as much as a computer. What may be considered 'extraneous' posts haven't bothered me yet. I agree with the other guys that it is more like time around the camp fire. You have your longer-winded talkers, and your 'Yup!' folks. (Yup is just a +1 around the fire. )

This is not contributing to the theme of the thread. Please digress.

    Short answer- I disagree w/Trambo.aka.sail1987
Conversation is the key word here. Much of what I see is an exchange of thoughts on a given topic. Thoughts can be random at times and may chase a rabbit. Many times, it's the rabbits that lead me personally to inquire on other thoughts or concerns related, if only marginally, to the OP's initial question, thought or statement.

Let's not throw the baby out with the bath water. Oh, and Trambo.aka.sail1987, your thoughts, comments, responses and ramblings are always welcome in my posts. On or off topics.

    P.S. Shug's the man

When I'm on the forums, if I'm just trying to get information I just ignore all the posts that are one line long. When there are paragraphs, I tend to stop and read them.

    What do you all think?
I am all for the conversational style of HF. I view via desktop and mobile. Honestly, scrolling through practical and nonsensical posts are no problem for me...I consider it all time well spent.

You may also want to look at the many options available to speed up a mobile device.

I do the same thing. I have been using forums of many types of topics for many years. Seems if I'm searching for information I instinctively just go right past the one line answers, and on to the next one with "meat" to it, don't even think about it.

If I'm just browsing to kill time I generally read through all the banter.

Alternatives to browsing forums in a mobile browser are everywhere. I personally use the tapatalk app, actually typing this from that app. Makes mobile browsing SO much easier.

Oh yeah. "You da man Shug, your videos are the bee's knees."
