Finally going to test out some UCR's

I bought some dynaglide UCR's from Caveman and he shipped them today. I will toss them on my DIY hammock for testing and will weigh them against my 7/64 whoopies when my food scale gets here! I am excited to try new things. Hopefully they will hold alright if I milk the buries well, as I tend to hover right around 195-200 lbs.
I may be dumb, but at least I'm ugly!

I've done so much, with so little, for so long, now I can do anything with nothing.

I just built some UCRS, I really don't see the big fuss over making sure there milked right to hold a load... I just found out that I used them Upside down too. Aparently this is even worse as gravity "pulls" the unloaded side down toward the hammock ... Seriously don't sweat over it, If you have ever used a rope for anything, you should be used to testing your knots, or making sure everything is secure before you put a load on it. Honestly I wouldn't have ever considered this an issue until I read about it here. I actually scratched me head and said "Some folks forget to check the suspension before getting in it?"... Even with whoopies I make sure everything is snug before I hop in...

I always like to make sure my whoopies are secure, then put some weight on my hammock and tighten my whoopies again. Will I probably be doing the same thing with UCR's?

Finally going to test out some UCR's

Just don't lay anything on the bury. After 4 nights in it, I was hanging a towel to dry on my suspension one day. 10 minutes into that night's sleep... Zipp! Down I go. The weight of the towel must have shifted the tautline hitch milking the bury. the long end had a slippery half hitch that did not stop my descent.

The weird thing was that the friction caused the middle of the bury to fuse. Took quite a bit of fiddling to work the bury loose.

Keep us posted on how you like them, I usually double and triple check everything but on a few different outings it was dark I was dead tired and my whoopie slipped partially off the marlin spike hitch knot. Nothing more frustrating to me than looking forward all day to layin in the hammock that night for some incredible sleep, then the time comes and you sit back and boom I hit the ground oh well I still use my whoopies and still love hammocking so it wasn't a deal breaker

Oh I will definitely report on the results, and maybe with pictures we will see how I like these or if I will prefer my whoopies, especially if the weight savings is minimal
