    metal slide

1st post. Going on a bike tour next week with my new ENO double nest. Would a metal slide be good for making a loop at the end of the 1" webbing? It is tubular with no sewed loop at the end . I have 15' for wrapping around the tree and then tying to the end of the hammock. Should I use a backup stopper knot? Lots of other, lighter options I read about here as well, but this is what I have to work with.

Yes, some use triglides at the tree end of things.
