    Savings?

Someone want to do math for the noob? Seriously, I have an unmodified HH Explorer Deluxe. I am currently using Atlas Straps, 'Biners and descending rings to hang it. If my math is right, the biners, rings and straps weigh 519g, but I have no idea what the stock lines weigh.

Any of you guys have a similar setup and know the weight/space savings when converting to a Dutchware HH setup? I'm thinking that I can save around a pound and a little space?

Yeah, you can sace a fair whack of weight there... dutch's site has weights, whoopie hook setup for hennessey with 5' straps and dutch clips weighs 134g, saving you 385g or 13.58oz. You could even shave more weight by having ucrs made, or shorter tree straps, or no dutch clips.

CBBR, you "may" have come up with an interesting marketing
tool that Dutch can use on his site. It would be interesting to
have the stock suspension listed for a few of the most popular
hammocks. They could then show the direct weight savings.

Where you run into a problem, is that there will be no way to list
every hammock vendor or hammock style. It would also be alot
to keep up with considering vendors may change their suspension.
The last thing he would want is to have wrong information up there.
It would make it look like he was fudging to make Dutchware look better.

We know that this would not be the case, its just a danger of the situation.

Weight savings is only a side effect of Dutch bling. The real benefit is being accepted at hangs and other social gatherings.

The "cool" factor is what always gets me... That said, I need some way to justify everything to the CFO (Wife) since its not on super duper never to be priced so low again bargain bin last remaining clearance sale.

How do you know it's not on super duper never to be priced so low again bargain bin last remaining clearance sale? Based on there listed prices I would say it is.

So besides the HH Dutch Buckle system, what do I need to have the coolest HH Explorer possible? Ridgeline? And since I keep the tarp separate, will a second set of tree huggers & buckles do the trick? I like the separate tarp and tarp ridgeline because I will be setting up in the rain again without a doubt.

I like my current setup, but don't love it. I love the hammock and want to keep it so any help to assemble a full kit would be appreciated. The weight savings and impressive look of the Dutchware products have me leaning hard.

Do you have a ridgeline now? Sorry I have no experience with HH stuff. For the tarp I would look at there tarp options. I really like the Dutch Stingerz I just got but they offer other options as well.

I converted both my HH Hyperlite and the Ultra light with
straps I had made up at Strapworks with a loop on both ends
(Dutch also has a very light Strap set up)
    Whoopie slings
and Dutch Biners (although, I used some climbing biners at first).

I also have a set of stingers on my tarp.

His stuff is so simple, lightweight, and for me , I like to try to cut weight wherever I can.
I'm not really a gram weenie,
but I can carry more food and water if necessary.

And just for the record, nearly every night I stopped last year on the trail, a tenter asked me about my setup.

Thanks to alot of research and the people here on the HF,
everyone I ran across said, "wow! you did ALOT of research!"

    Sometimes setups take some tweaking.

Seeing other's pics of their set ups or some of Shug's videos really help as well.
