    Giant Backyard Hammock

Anyone have an idea how one would go about making one of these?

Start with an engineering degree, hire an arborist to confirm health of the trees, buy the appropriate fishing netting, cables and hardware, rent a bucket lift, enlist the help of a few friends and visit your insurance agent for an umbrella policy.

Being cheap, lazy and foolish, I would skip the first two steps.

Also, any person using must sign a waiver to use said giant hammock.

    Go to the circus.
I bet they've got an old one that smells like trapeze sweat they'll sell.

Reminds me of a Sesame Place attraction:

Circus net is a good idea. I guess I'm looking for material for something a little smaller than this but maybe the size of 4 large hammocks.

    Cargo/safety net.here 3/8 steel cable.

You could always buy 20,000 feet of cordage and weave one for the entire winter. Then unveil it next spring.

And a t-shirt that explains the waffle pattern on your butt.

That is so cool. I'd love to have one.

Making would take you months, as noted earlier likely all winter. You could check here to see what prices would be like to buy one though: http://www.barry.ca/netting-system/nets.htm

You can even get a quote for a specific size here: http://www.barry.ca/netting-system/k...trand-nets.htm

It looks a bit like batting cage netting. I think it is pretty awesome myself.
