    Puppy hammock

or dog bjorn or dog sling or something.

Just thought I'd share another way that hammocks have enriched our lives.

We picked up this little guy from the pound a couple of days ago.

And since he was separated from his mother so early when he was picked up by animal control . . . he needs a little extra closeness and touching.

    So . . . I used my hammock skills to transform a pillow-case.

Honestly, I need more fabric to do it right, but . . . it's pretty effective as is.

I just folded the ends as I've seen y'all do in your DIY projects, then did a sailor's whipping around the ends. I tied the tail ends into loops, one through the other to make the sling. I pulled the long edges of the pillow case a little further up in the gathered ends. But it seems that sense it is curving around my body (instead of strung up between trees) . . . that one side should be shorter than the other.

    Any ideas to improve?

Great looking pup. Check out how they make baby slings, those might work as well too.

Now that is a good lookin boy!
Thanks for the pics...cheer'd up my day

PS - I would not be the animal control refered to by RAW. If I was, my daughters would have never allowed that little guy to leave.

Yes, yes, I should have been more specific: Athens-Clarke County Animal Control.

We hadn't intended to get another dog so soon after my Helios had to leave us.

But this boy tugged at our hearts when he showed up at the pound.
And now we're back to 4 dogs in the house. We're crazy people.

I'm eyeballing some old jersey sheet set from my wife's dorm days . . . and thinking about how I'd like to cut out another puppy hammock.

If you're gonna make another hammock for that fellow, you'd better hurry...and make it BIG! Look at those feet! You're gonna have a hunk of a dog. And, good for you making an adoption!

There's really no telling, but . . . he's a pit mix of some sort. Time will tell.
