    Ca>sd/la

Anybody interested in a SoCal hang in the next few weeks? Just ordered a KAQ New River UQ and will likely be itching to try it out once it comes in. (Despite it not really being that cold in these parts.)

I'm down in SD, but don't really know of a good overnight spot here, so pretty open to suggestions of where to go.

I've never really been out there either. There's a bunch of land inland a bit though, maybe someone else can suggest a trail.

As long as we can get a few people together, I'm good to go just about anywhere south of the grapevine.

If I recall from back in my Boy Scout days Palomar was pretty nice, but it has been about 9 years since I've been there.
I may be dumb, but at least I'm ugly!

I've done so much, with so little, for so long, now I can do anything with nothing.

It's not peer pressure, it's just your turn.

This place looks pretty sweet and location seems to work well for all so far.

They have one of their "star parties" coming up on (Saturday) Sept 7. Sounds cheesy I know, but actually looks interesting if you check out the website. Basically, a bunch of amateur astronomers volunteer to let campers look through large telescopes and share their knowledge of space.

Should make for an interesting event before climbing into hammocks with an open view of the night sky.

If that weekend works for others, let me know and we can start getting numbers together. Can shoot for one of the reserved spots if we have enough people.

(Looks like the star party happens both Friday and Saturday night. Don't think I can make it up Friday, but the group is welcome to get started without me if others want to go up early.)

Wife and kids are fine with me. I might bring some other tent camping friends too, depending on how much interest we get.
