Backyard Hammock Stand?

Has anyone ever modified a steel tube backyard hammock stand to work with a gathered end nylon hammock. I have one that was designed to be used with a woven rope flat hammock and I want to modify it to work with my Eno Double Nest. Anyone try this before and would be willing to give some starting points? Thanks Gang!!

There are a few threads on this. Mostly consist of an extension made out of some heavy duty pipe slid over the end and bolted on to keep it from spinning.
