Ripstop nylon .VS. crinkle taffeta Polly?

    Hey guys viper here!
    I Weigh 150lbs 5ft 8in tall
Alright so I have been using 1.9ripstop nylon hammocks and have been looking into the crinkle taffata polliester material. I know it's more heavy then 1.9ropstop but does crinkle taffata Polly hold more weight? And how much less compress able is this Crinkle taffeta vs ripstop nylon?
I want this Crinkle taffeta because it feels better to me then ripstop and it comes in charcole grey as where I can't find ripstop in that color.
But anyways ripstop nylon vs crinkle taffeta Polly?
Thanks guys(just don't want to whaste my money )

I believe crinkle taffeta is rated at 400lbs, however I'm not sure the compressibility compared to ripstop. I'm sure someone here will know the answer to that. taffeta is a great material for its assorted colors and low price. Hope this helps.

I'm unsure of which is stronger weight wise but it is pretty strong. You can got to tableclothfactory where they have a silver color although I didn't see a grey. But taffeta is definitely a nice fabric from the time I have used it.

I've had over 500 lbs in my 1.7 nylon traveler hammock when me and 2 other people decided to see what three people sitting in a hammock was like(the person in the middle ended up rather squished). I really don't see any need for a heavier weight fabric. I actually prefer my lady's 1.1 hammock and I'm 200 lbs.

The reason I'm going for crinkled taffeta Polly is because they have the color charcole grey. Ripstop I can't find it anywhere. Although I'm not sure that crinkle taffeta feels anything like eno hammocks or not now that I'm confused but I do like how the ei hammocks fabrics feel more then ripstop so I'm hoping this crinkled taffeta Polly feels similar

I don't know what taffeta feels like, but if it's comfortable and the color that you want then it will probably be your new favorite hammock!

Made mine from a TableclothFactory blank, it is real comfortable (I'm 250# and 6'3"). I remember reading somewhere that they are 2.3oz fabric. Early on I figured I might add a 2nd layer of some lighter stuff (1.1oz ripstop), but no need so far - I've had 500# sitting in it (wife and I plus a kid or two) without worries.
