Bottom Entry for Bunk Style Hang???

Mountnman, I always sit down in my slit while getting dressed/undressed, with all of my weight on the opening. I've never seen any sign of this causing stress. I'm pretty sure it's been designed for this as it's the entry point.

I agree if you are just sitting into it, but if hung higher you may have to put your hands to the sides and a lot of pressure basically like doing a dip and pressing yourself up into it and then landing on it with a lot of force. Like the lady in the video in post #3. If you have to hop into it, which I would think you would, You would also have to straddle or push the hammock on the bottom out of the way to line up with the opening. I would be afraid that it would split or cause a weak spot that could end up causing both the top and the bottom hanger a bad night with a possibility of injury to both. Just my thought, I may be totally wrong

They look like they're very sturdily constructed in that area, but I do see where you're coming from. I don't think it would be an issue, but I'm not going to test that one out myself.

That is what I am curious about.
Will the bottom hammock support someone standing
And will the bottom closure take the weight.

I assume that not all the weigh will be on the entry
As you can use the hammock to pull yourself up.

I'm hoping to bring this thread back to life because I have a question. I was wondering if any of you think using one marlins spike/webbing system with attaching two sets of whoppy slings (from two hammocks...sort of like the xPlor concept) would work. Any ideas?

I know this sounds a little sketchy, but I'm trying to find a way to get my wife to join me in my new passion.
