Bottom Entry for Bunk Style Hang???

After looking at many different ways to hang two hammocks together,
I am thinking of going mainly bunk style, unless there is a nice trio
of trees so that we can hang same head and different feet.

If I have to hang bunk style, I am mainly worried about the person
on the top bunk being able to get in easily.

Would the bottom access of a HH make it easier to get in, if the HH
is the top hammock? Could someone gingerly stand on the bottom
hammock to get up into the top one? I'm worried about the forces that
standing on a hammock would make, as it would be centered around the
foot area and might provide too much stress.

What do yall think? If I have decent hanging gear, should this be
an issue? Can the bottom hammock stand the stress, and would the
velcro bottom access make it easier to get in?

if you hang them one on top of the other, how are you going to get into the top one? Stepladder?

I'm thinking about getting one for my kid to hang in when we go camping. Not sure when these will hit the market as a stand alone item.

I disagree with there being plenty of room wth the xplor.
That's a tight fit for sure.

As for tg e question of how to get into to bunk, this is where
I thought the Hennessey bottom entry could help.

I dont know what size person you plan to be bunking and I would agree that anyone over 5'7" would prolly feel cramped in the xplor. At any rate, if I'm going with a bunk setup, I'm pretty sure i'll be on the bottom and I'd be happy to help whoever i trust enough to sleep over me with a boost into and a hand out of the top bunk.

I find this is about as close as you want to get. Any closer or stacked and everything gets in the way and becomes a group activity. If the top person needs to go the restroom at 4 am or someone ate beans.....

I camped next to a friend of mine last Friday and he had his three kids with him. Him on the bottom. daughter just above him and the two boys in the top hammock. All three hammocks in a row directly above each other. I told him he was braver than I'd ever be. Not because of hanging three kids above and someone falling out or on him but because of tiny bladders.

I see where you're heading though. I think with a small person above the bottom entry might well aid in the ingress/egress of the hammock that high. Not something I would try. Sometimes you just have to look a little harder for the right spot to hang....seperately.

After thinking about it I think it would put a lot more stress on the bottom entry in the fact the entry hole runs longways with the hammock and any excessive stree on the entry could split the hammock. I set up a bunk style for my daughter just playing around and I got into the top just to see if it would hold me 6'1 and 265 and it did fine, I pulled both of the sides of the bottom hammock together and stepped up right into the top one. Don't know if this makes sense or if it helps

Mountnman, I always sit down in my slit while getting dressed/undressed, with all of my weight on the opening. I've never seen any sign of this causing stress. I'm pretty sure it's been designed for this as it's the entry point.
