Finally got my hangin gear today...

I opened my mailbox today to find a nice package from Shane at Austinstrail.com . Inside was my new Safari Asym Zip.
Thanks to the great information I've gathered from all of the members around here, I had my Whoopie Sling conversion ready to go and quickly pulled up Ken's HH Whoopie Sling Conversion video. 10 minutes later, I was re-applying the last zip tie and getting ready to go hang it. (That was with the Snake Skin installation as well).
I got her all hung up in the back yard and it didn't take long for me to realize that I wanted a separate ridgeline for the tarp. Out came my trusty 1000 ft roll of para-cord and, a couple of prusik knots later, I was up and running. About this time, I noticed that I didn't have any extra tent pegs so I raided the "fast food stuff" drawer in our kitchen and stole a few pairs of disposable chop sticks.
A little fooling about with my guide lines and I'm up and running. First hang is a success!!

Just have to give a hat tip to member mikenmel08 for helping me get going in the right direction.

Now, if the temperature around here will drop about 20-30 degrees, I can get out and put this baby to use.

It even passed scrutiny by my intense testing staff.

This weekend should be perfect weather for it. Here in NoTX, it's supposed to be 91/70 on
Saturday, and 93/72 on Sunday. Love the testing staff.

I'm very excited for you! I'm still trying to decide, so I'm a little envious of you. Good luck on your first hang!

Re: Finally got my hangin gear today...

I can't thank everyone here who has posted such useful information enough. I'm writing this post on my tablet while enjoying my Sunday morning coffee in my hammock out in the back yard.
With the great info I got on Whoopie Slings and how to set it up so easy, I was able to hang my Safari, in the dark, even before having coffee this morning and enjoy watching the sunrise. Total time was about 3 minutes and that included "help" from my curious Golden Retriever pup.
I do think that there is a, very real, chance at becoming a hammock junkie.
