Thanks for the video. I've been talking about Birkhead for years and now I can share some of it. My in-laws live four miles from the Tot Hill Farm trailhead; talk about getting hiking fever when I visit!

Thanks for the video. My first backpacking trip ever and overnight in a hammock was there. I really enjoyed the area. I'm itching to go back again.

We started at the old homestead at the Thornburg Trailhead and made a big loop going Robbins Branch, to Hannah's Creek to Birkhead Mountain & back. I guess we went NASCAR style with all the left turns!

It really is a nice area without really strenuous hills as you described.

Hey Hiknhanger, What a nice place to have a first experience. It's just enough of a challenge to not discourage people. I didn't say much about Thornburg other than where the trail ties into Robbins Branch, I might need to shoot a little video on that 2 mile stretch. I like turning left too, you don't get as dizzzzzzy. Thanks for watching.
