    Any problem with the biners cutting into the trees? I finally ordered some rings and rope from REI to switch my Hennessy to this type of suspension system.

    No biners on the tree side. Just webbing.

    I do use biners to tie my stand into some heavy tiedowns I put in my truck bed.

    Yes, those are the omega pacific rap rings I added to my hammock. They have 1 strap of webbing threaded through them, cinched up tight to the tree.

    I could have pulled my truck out a little, but it was easier to cinch up the strap. Even pulled tight, the rings will never make contact with the tree.

    I've tried both (omega pacific and SMC) with the garda hitch and cord (not webbing). I think the SMC's hold better with the garda hitch. Its was a bummer because the Omega's are really nice looking. They are still great rap rings!

    Mine have held fine with 1" poly webbing.
