    53 miles in 5 days...10 yrs old!!!

Trooper and I decided to do a big hike this summer. He is only 10 and I had a tough time deciding how far he could go. We finally decided on a 50 miler. This would be a hike he will remember for his whole life. It turned out to be 53. He carried his full pack the entire time. We had close to 12,000 in elevation gain over the trip. It may have been one of the greatest things I have ever done with my son.

    here is a few pics

    Awesome all the way around.

I hope when my daughters are old enough that they will not only entertain me with such a trip but enjoy and find the beauty and importance of getting out and adventure.

Just awesome. Congrats to him for hiking that far. I am sure it was special as a father to spend that time with him in the woods.
