I taking a short overnighter and I'm about to leave. It's supposed to go down to 71 tonight, should I bring my UQ?

Yah. At around that temp you might feel a chill. some of that will depend on what you wear and what material the hammock is made of. I didn't need any when I slept in temps around the 70's in my double layer Hennessey, but in the 1.1 nylon I definitely need it.
You may be OK but I use at least a thin pad in my WBBB.I broke out the 40d UQ for the
50-60 we have been having.I would be prepared to have something to put under you if the temps drop.
Bring something. Pad or uq.
You may need to block the wind. Temps aren't the only concern.
Thanks guys. I'll take my Poncho Liner UQ just in case.
I'm glad I brought it, It came in handy around 4AM.
Sarge. Weight wasn't really an issue as my best friend and his son came along and we just car camp. But it does pack smaller then my New River and is perfect for the chilly early morning hours.
It was a good overnighter.
I might have to make some PLUQ for my friends that want to come along for camping trips.

A bad overnighter is better than a good day at work.
I just made a PLUQ using the KAQ Pattern on the Forum:
https://www.hammockforums.net/index.php?page=kaq
and added a layer of Insultex cut to the same shape. Its kind of a hybrid PLUQ. Its on its way to YorikMori for him to use as a UQ. I hope he gives us a report once its dialed in. The cut is done to fit an HH, and is the same pattern as the Potomac, which fits on my HHDJ like a champ.
Insultex has got me thinking about quilt needs in TX. We generally don't need much. I'm thinking of a quilt system based on one layer, with additional layers that can be snapped or velcroed on as conditions dictate.
