I gotta get me one of these. Almost as big as my home hammocks!
Trust nobody!
Bliss seems to have decent hammocks; I am just about to order one the no-see-um version and will be interested in comparing it to my HH.
Yeah Ill be interested to hear your conclusion. I have the no see um and I like it heaps but havent spent a night in a HH.
I use the double and with the right sag it's very comfortable. In warm weather I use the separate bug net. The hammock and net are heavy to start with and I've added buckles and straps (greatest mod ever), as well as a ridge line. I think with 24 feet of webbing, Trango biners and tarp I'm at just about 5 lbs. and that's with out any insulation. Most of my camping is done from a kayak so the weight isn't as big a deal to me as some. Even though it's a little heavier, I like the bug net below me as well because those skeeters seem to get me through the fabric.
Recently received the no-see-um Hammock Bliss. Initially I did not like the fit compared with the HH Explorer Deluxe. However, this evening I added more sag to the hang and tied the net higher and found the fit to be very comfortable to me. I am able to lie somewhat diagonally like in the HH for a relatively flat lie. Overall I think this hammock a good buy; quality seems good (not as good as the HH, but nevertheless it is very sturdy) and I think it will be durable. I was not able to get a closed-cell pad to fit in the hammock to my liking, so for me I think this hammock would need an underquilt for cool/cold weather camping. My pads fit well in my HH, so at this point I plan to use the HH for cool/cold weather camping and the Bliss for warm weather camping. If you already own a rain tarp, then the no-see-um Bliss is worth considering (you will need to buy straps separately).
Neat comparison bwg.
I have also found that pads dont work well in them and to get the best lie you must hang it with a good amount of sag. I switched the rope it came with for one of my own ages but have since moved to a webbing and ring system.
