If you are a gram weinnie you can stuff extra cloths in a stuff sack.

I make my own using left over clamashield or other synthetic materials and vary the amount of fill to adjust the firmness. I found for me the best size is about 9 X 18 inches. I like a firm pillow.

These pillows weight about 2.7 oz or less

Pillows also add extra insulation (for your head) when its cold.

This is what I use as well.

I really like how it has a ridge line clip so the pillow doesn't slip away.

Thanks everyone, some good ideas there.

Gunner76 - how much climashield would you use to stuff a regular pillow? I think I am going down the DIY route.

As I like a firm pillow, as much as I can. I folded a piece (3 or 4 layers) larger than the pillow it was going in and cut it to length if needed (keeping it larger than the pillow). I then stuffed inside. I leave the open end longer than needed so I can fold the end over and sew it closed and then fold the fabric over and sew it again and do it one more time. I tried pinning the fabric closed but found the stuffing made it more trouble than it was worth. I have also used odds and ends to stuff the pillow but that makes for a lumpy pillow.

Never needed to have a pillow with stuff sacks and clothes but I used this one that Jacks R Better supplied gratis with my BMBH-UL last night and think I'll continue to use it in the warmer months. Not so sweaty then. It's 0.6oz and $1.75.

I use the neck things like what Junebugdawn makes....but I get mine at Target for $2.5 when they have them. I also have an inflatable one for between/or under my knees...I don't like the inflatable neck pillows for my head in a hammock because they choke me.

I always liked the mod with that neck pillow,
which allowed you to remove the factory stuffing
and substitute your clothes and such for padding.
