Looking at the picture of Ray with his Blackbird, I first thought he was holding up his tarp ridgeline with his teeth!

we've all been remiss about Farmer. The dude drove up from like I10, down Houston way, 3 or 4 hours....heard voices in the woods (us discussing just where the trail went...), trekked cross-country to us....in sandals.... and had a dedicated platypus for "apple juice". All for an over-night........

    Strawn Tx. August Overnight

It was a true pleasure to meet all of you, and it was worth the drive. Ray, much to my surprise it wasn't apple juice in my platy. It was, however just as nice if not better.

I'll post a link to my trip report and photos once I finish putting on the finishing touches tomorrow.

He needs to come on over to the LST hike on the 13th. Just a quick jaunt down I10 and take a left when you get to Houston.

All most excellent trip reports indeed. It was nice to meet you TheFarmerCamper I hope you can join the DFW crew again sometime somewhere. We are not afraid to go to stupid lengths to find a campsite!
Mrs.Gospidey enjoyed meeting you all, wandering through the brush, tipping back in the monarch chair, and chatting around that roaring fire we had.
I’m trying to convince her that Fairfield is going to be the big show not to be missed.
I think she might come around. Something about showers and restrooms I suspect…
