Hi all, here to learn from DIY section of this forum. My first over night hammock adventure was out of necessity on elk scout trip. Too much dead fall on the ground. First hang was in a trek light compact with deflated Big Anges insulated mat. While not ideal I found sleeping in a hammock was not too bad. I use to use hammocks on hiking trips for comfy chair during lunch stops or relaxing around camp. I'm Looking forward to learning how to hang the right way and on a budget.

thanks! DIY top and under quilt is main focus at this time. I was thinking down but after a self assessment of sewing skills. I think I will start with 5oz apex insulation.

There is someone that just sells the UQ and TQ shells (Underground)?
Then you just add the down and sew the end shut..
