I'll have to check that out.
i also found this on magna's site (http://store.magnafabrics.com/produc...95&group=24998). Is this actually waterproof? or just "resistant"?
OH YEAH BABY! Make them hammocks!
PSH, OH LAWD! A hammock without a tarp in Oregon is C-R-A-Z-Y!
SHEEEEEWT, nubbins McNubsauce doesn't stand a chance. To the pasture!

you don't want your hammock to be waterproof, you'd want plain ripstop nylon for that. The silnylon is for tarps, quilts, stuff sacks, etc...

Yeah, so far the score is 50 yards webbing, 240 ft am steel, 45 yards black 1.9 ripstop, and thread.
Plan to make 6 hammocks and save the rest for insulation projects.
So far I am winning, though my hands are a bit raw. Received my AM steel yesterday and got right to work this morning. I believe I have ~8 pairs finished now. I ended up disassembling my standard whoopies and making UCR style ones to save rope. Makes me happy to have way more AM steel left over than I anticipated. I would claim to be an expert on fixed loops and back splices now .
Still waiting on my 1.9. Once I get it I will get to work. I originally was going to only make basic single layer hammocks, but since my hammock was a hit last weekend with many friends there are going to be different requirements. Might try to make some double layer and even extended width. Everything is going swimmingly so far!
Received my 45 yards of 1.9 ripstop today . Let the sewing begin!
