With all 3 options I can add extra clothing under the quilt. Since I started this hammock venture, I see my pack weight increasing. I'm hoping the comfort will offset the weight gain. On a recent backpack trip, I didn't sleep well on the ground. Silnylon is some pretty slippery stuff. The whole night I felt like I was sleeping on a slip and slide. Hopefully, hammocking will put an end to sleepless nights.
I've gone from working to get my pack as light as I could, to moving to slightly heavier gear in the name of comfort....each to their own, but I feel I hike much more effectively after I sleep like the dead. I wouldn't trade my Ridgerunner and quilts for anything. (Except if the manufactures make them just as comfy, at half the weight....never say never!)

    Cheers

Ditto for me. Either way you can't go wrong with the burrow

I've done the exact same thing. I got down to a ULA CDT pack at about 14-15 lbs. I didn't have a lot of fun not being able to sleep. I went up a size to the ULA Circuit and carry a conservative but not ultralight setup at about 19-20lbs with two liters water and food for a weekend. I can sleep so much better at night and I feel great the next day. Seems like I don't even feel that extra weight.

After talking to Adam I ordered my Burrow 20 w/ half taper and wide for the very reasons already mentioned. Can't wait til it hits my doorstep! The Incubator is awesome as well...K

You are going to love it. My burrow is my favorite piece of gear (along with my Ridge Runner).

I just purchased a 20 degree Burrow (wide with the half taper) and slept in it for a couple nights. It works great for me. I don't feel any restriction, but it's still very warm.

    What he said.

I got the wide / half-taper for that very reason (some BSA camps don't allow hammocks). If I knew I would never ever use it on the ground, I would get the regular width / full-taper and save the weight.
