    Question about cuben fiber

Just got my first piece of cuben fiber. A pack liner for my ULA Circuit. Is it more durable than it feels? It's so light and feathery, I love it would it be safe to pack everything in that bad boy and leave my Event compression dry sacks at home do you think?

It's durable to a degree. one of my cuben dry bag burst at the seams. The stitching(holes) are the weak areas to look out for. It's a dry bag but I would not submerse it. I have not had great luck with my event dry bags either (submersed).

I have had 2 for me and the wife,,and so far so good with them,,they will take alittle abuse. I don't pack many items in bags,,just throw it all in this. I do have and use also,,cuben pack covers from Zpacks..super lite weight and they take the abuse also and are tiny in the bags they come in. I don't immerse to check the bags,,just use and abuse them and they looke fine to me.

Be aware when stuffing your pack liner that cuben isn't tear-resistant like ripstop nylon. Just be careful with the pointy, hard-edged items and you should be fine. Cuben doesn't stretch, so avoid over-stuffing.

duct tape and seam sealer is your friend
seam seal the CF bag and make sure you work it into the seam good it will help with ripping or leaking issues
i always carry Duct tape .. it's CF best friend
It puts the Underquilt on it's hammock ... It does this whenever it gets cold
