I think DuctTape Nailed it ... hike during the day and it's pretty much campfire and food till you retire for the night
Good time to catch up on some needed sleep
It puts the Underquilt on it's hammock ... It does this whenever it gets cold

OK, first I need to find a friend with snowmobiles and then go from there.

It shouldn't be too hard to find other hangers to go with you if you can't get your family or friends to go. Just PM them with your thoughts, start a trip planning thread, take off work, go to the woods and enjoy. Repeat as necessary.

That parachute is so sweet. This looked like a lot of fun. Making me want to winter camp for the first time.

All I can say is there are some members here that hammock in cold we do not see here.12 degrees last winter with a 20degree setup was enough for me.Winter definitely separates the men from the boys and the men seem to be the northern tier people.

Just a friendly reminder, those same fellas wouldn't be caught dead in a hammock in 94*H, 79*L temps with 100% humidity. They think we're nuts with large cojones.

*Also, we just can't always get up there. Would love to hammock in the deep snow.

Floridahang -- I would much rather hang at twenty-below than to attempt to hang at 94 degrees with 100% humidity. A person can always dress warmer for the cold but, there is a limit to the amount of clothes you can take off in hot weather.
