I've had a couple projects bouncing around in the coconut for a week or two and finally had a chance to work on them today.
Koodos go to ExPXGUY for the inspiration on the Suspension caddy, as well as Gresh for posting about it yet one more time to remind me to get it done, AND XTrekker for the inspiration on the Sack Pack. Thank you gentlemen. We stand on the shoulders of giants.
So here is my version of a suspension caddy. Really couldn't think of anything else to call it. Point is it does for me what ExPXGUY's tyvek version does for him. Everything has it's place; tree straps with Dutchware, tarp stakes, ZingIt continuous ridgeline for tarp and an extra hank of zing it for the odd short coming between trees. I still need to put on the velcro but it is so sweet. ACU digi camo makes it all the more cool.
This is my version of XTrekker's sack pack. This one is double layered and the seams double stiched. She measures 14.5 by 17.5 . I went to my local JoAnns for the cordage I wanted but they didn't have any and there really aren't any other places here to buy sewi..ahem..excuse me..THREAD INJECTION notions. I happened to have the rope laying in my office that someone had left on my dock about 4 months ago. Turned out to be the right size and is very soft. Feels fine on the shoulders when the pack is full, even with heavy items. ACU digi camo makes this all the more cool as well.
I am super proud of both of these projects. The boy is already wanting the sack pack and hinting around as to whether I'm gonna make him a suspension caddy as well. Of course, I will. He's ultimately gonna want a sack pack in blue so back to JoAnns I'll go for some blue ripstop.
Thanks again to everyone who posts DIY on this site. You guys are my thread injection heros. YOU ROCK!!
