On the food front, I think we should have some sort of group type meal. Something to avoid mule and his crew carrying the load like at the HH. While I greatly appreciated the food and effort. I feel like it would be best if we planned and spread things out over a broader group of volunteers for this one. Thoughts?

Yes, I pick a little. I have brought it to a few outings but never played it more than 5 minutes. I even made a 2 lb banjo just for backpacking, but folks really don't want to hear a lone instrument out there. I hear you though, and can respect that train of thought.
Some probably look on it the same as dragging a boom box out into where it shouldn't be. With the banjo and dulcimer making the trip westward via the overland trail, both have well shared time around the fire rings of the past, and surely wouldn't hold it against anyone sharing that perception in the present.
Not a lock yet, but closing in on this one. Have the go ahead, just need to fit all the pieces into place. I just love to watch those wheels go round n round
