Looking forward to seeing some familiar faces and spending some time in the woods. Hopefully the weather holds as it was a bit wet last year for my tastes.
No, not correct. Take the first RIGHT from the two track going East on the Sycamore Branch, walk a mile and a half or so on that trail till you get to the campsite 2 marker then bushwhack generally North following the Creek/creeks crossing them several times to stay going N or NNE. There is a vague trail, lets keep it vague if we can. It takes about 15 minutes bushwhacking North to the Clearing.

I've been following this discussion for several weeks and would like to attend. This would be my first official hang out. Sounds like some people are arriving Friday? I would like to make it a 2 nighter. I have no idea how to get there from the fire tower. Will better directions be posted or if someone else is going Friday maybe I could follow

Act, are the directions in post 201 ok? It will be good to meet you. But yes, we will be working closely with anyone who is not familiar with the area.

I'm heading in Friday and would be more than willing to meet ya, but be warned that I'm known for unintentionally taking the "scenic" route to most locations.
Also, I want to park at the hilltop lot nearer the camp site, but would enjoy the longer hike in from the fire tower.
Where you heading from? And what time are thinking about arriving.
    Directionally challenged...comicly so.

Not all who wonder are lost...But I'm probably just lost.

If I interpret the directions correctly it looks like you walk up this valley to the north from this little icon ( campsight 2? )

Yes, but not from the campsite itself but from the sign that says Campsite 2 so you would just leave the trail and go NN w up that valley. You don't ever turn west, so you are on the right of the spur shown about an inch MMW from the sign.

I always take the longer hike from the tower, myself.

I'm checking the hockey schedule to make sure we don't have games that weekend. If no games, I'm in. I've been AWOL the past few months (working hard on working hard) and I NEED a few nights in the woods.
I'll keep you guys posted as soon as I know for sure. Thanks to everyone for putting this together.
