Just found this on HNF website as I have been checking it off and on since all the Govt. closings of nat. parks.. they just put it up in the few days or so.

Funding Lapse

Due to the lapse in agency funding, the sale of all types of permits (i.e., recreation, firewood, forest products, mineral materials for example) are suspended, recreation.gov reservations are suspended, and all federally owned recreation sites are closed. All offices are closed. These services will be available once funding is restored.

Law enforcement, fire suppression, and other essential services will continue without interruption.

This web site will remain available for public safety announcements and updates such as for wildfire, floods, and so forth. We will attempt to make timely updates about public health and safety on these web pages as appropriate. We sincerely regret this inconvenience.

Seems like it would take a really zealous Park Ranger to be out there enforcing the shutdown . I think Ill chance it .

No reports of enforcement at this time.

I'd even chance the $100 dollar ticket at this point. I wouldn't like it, would make me very angry actually.....but not nearly as much as if I would let it keep me away.

Just an FYI...... I was at Hemlock Cliffs on Saturday with family. It is in HNF and there were no issues with getting in. There was a sign posted on the Map sign stating that area is closed due to shutdown, but there were many people in and out of there and I never saw any security roll through. I don't think you guys will experience any resistance.

Still planning to go. Already in this for gas to come from Kansas City and a new JRB Greylock 4. Guess I can eat another 100 if it comes to that!

I really think this govt. BS will be over with by then. Even so,,I have a couple of friends that are DNR officers that I talked to,,and the Indiana DNR is not going to do much if any inforcement except on hunting in the Hoosier National Forest except when they get a call on possible violations of hunting regs. We should know by the end of the week for sure one way or the other,,which way everything is going to go.

Lost my Thursday launch, but will be there early on Friday.

Plan on packing a water cache into CV, then moving on north to maybe Jones, or the lake for Friday night. Back to the car on Saturday morning for a quick resupply and back to CV for Saturday afternoon and night.

Or I could just get lost for a couple days. Either way will be just fine
