    Hoosier Halloween Hang 2013

Unfortunately I have to work Thursday night so I won't get off work until 0300 Friday morning so I am going to plan on leaving the house no later than 1200 so I should hopefully hit the parking lot no later than 1330

I'll probably wait to see if LostBiker wants help packing stuff in.

I still plan on soloing a loop somewhere Thursday and Friday. Grubb Ridge out to the Peninsula Trail, or something shorter, to Jones or there abouts. Lost is being so generous with his time and talents, the least I'd like to offer is to help him Mule some of it in.

If he doesn't need me or won't need me until afternoon, I'll probably try to get there as early as I can reasonably manage it.
Yes, I'll have a great pile of stuff and some help is appreciated, but not an absolute. Lots of food, gallons of water, hammocks (3 or 4), tarps, sleeping bags, underquilts, cookies, Doctari is supposed to bring me my homemade wine, so he can carry that, claymores so we can set up a perimeter, a roll of barb wire to keep out the cows, a 55 gallon drum of cold weather (just in case), a lawnmower in case Doctari forgets his clippers, my tuxedo in case we go formal, my He-Man Woman Haters Club sign (8' x 10') - I think that's it for the first trip.

As you should! Lemme ask the wife first, just to be sure.

    No cookies for you!

Now, that's what friends are for!

What's this about a tent? I thought that was a banned item?
I got in a fight one time with a really big guy, and he said, "I'm going to mop the floor with your face." I said, "You'll be sorry." He said, "Oh, yeah? Why?" I said, "Well, you won't be able to get into the corners very well."

Oh they're allowed, even encouraged for the uninitiated, we're such a nice bunch you see.

Then of course we hope it rains, and try to not let them see us taking bets, on who's tarp they try to hide under.

Doctari's influence made me (yes, made me) make a super 136" x 128" tarp. Between his XL tarp and mine, we can shelter those in need - for a small fee - usually cookies of some sort. Haggling is excepted and encouraged!

We might have to chat about this gi-normous tarp in which you speak.

I'm out gang. Having some major back problems (split 2 vertebra, no leakage though, and ruptured a disk) and in physical therapy, and getting steroid shots, in a total, useless, wimpy attempt to avoid surgery. Took a terrible fall down a steep rocky bank a couple months ago while on a kayak, stealth hammock camp trip with my son.

Good thing is....I beat him down that bank by a long shot.

Although all black and blue within an hour of that sorry excuse of a human flight attempt, The other interesting/good thing, is that I didn't even realize that I had hurt myself that bad because we we're sleeping in hammocks! Next day on the river in the kayak was a real %*&$ though.

Have fun, and be safe. We are both very, very disappointed in missing this one.
