Greeting from Nashville Tennessee

Greetings! I'm about 30, male, and live in Nashville, TN. I enjoy long walks....wait wrong forum.

I found Hammock Forums when doing some research on a suspension system for a hammock I got for my birthday after some of my friends got me interested in hanging instead of sleeping on the hard ground.

I've been reading a lot, found Shug's videos and love them. I'm glad I've found the hammock forums...my wallet not so much! I've started a diy bugnet, I've purchased the materials for some whoopie slings (using the hammock forums discount!) and found a place for some cheap webbing straps for my tree huggers...and I've never even slept in my hammock yet!

I did however set it up and spend about 4-6 hours in it one evening in the back yard and I was sold on it. I look forward to getting to know you guys and learning some cool stuff here, maybe even contributing if I have something useful to share.

Welcome to hanging and those long walks ....

Truly, you've come to the right site and live in a great city full of hammock hangers. In fact, one or two of us might be hanging tonight or tomorrow night on Bear Island in Percy Priest Lake. Got a water craft of some sort?!

Jump right in, the water (figuratively and literally) is fine!

Hey Rain man,

I actually do have a large kayak that I got for the express purpose of getting into kayal camping. I've never been to bear island, but I have seen it on the percy priest lake map and wanted to try it. I wish I could come to the hang this week, but I'm mostly limited to the weekends due to work. I would love to join some fellow HF members sometime though!

Tell me though, when you go on the lake have you ever had issue with someone messing with your vehicle? I've heard of some break-ins from a ranger when I asked about overnight parking, so I was reluctant to park at a put-in overnight. I was going to get my wife to drop me off and pick me up, but that'd mean I wouldn't get on the water til about 5:00-5:30

Wow, I wasn't expecting this many Nashvillians! That's awsome, we'll have to get something together for a group hang one weekend
