    mac cat tarps

    somewhat confused!!! big surprise there,,, what is the differance between a standard and a "cat cut" tarp. really looking and leaning towards the mac cat tarps for my wb bb also what is spinn? fabric or a coating?? any suggestions on the size of tarp, plan 3 season campin maybe more. want a tarp that will last. but must keep me dry!!!!

    Standard tarps have straight edges. Cat cut tarps theoretically have caternary cuts along their eges. This helps them to be pulled taut more easily.

    Spinnaker is fabric, very lightweight.

    Your instinct towards a MacCat tarp is right on. They are very well made, and will last. Just be sure to choose one that is long enough to provide good coverage for your hammock.

    I use a standard size with my Blackbird. I generally recommend people get a deluxe size. The deluxe gives you a bit more 'fudge factor' with its extra length and for only a few dollars and ounces more.

    If I was shopping for a tarp, an OES MacCat Deluxe in Spinn would be at the very top of my list.
