I'm shooting full metal jacket arrows, carbon inside, aluminum outside. Cut to fit my draw length and the rest could be toggles. Maybe I should become a cottage toggle manufacturer. Mine have also been finished by inserting golf tees into the ends. I cut the tees short, tiny dab of epoxy and press hard to fit. This and polishing the cut edges makes me confident they won't damage straps and they won't slide out, the head of the tee is slightly larger than the 9/32" shaft diameter.

Dude, that sounds like an awesome toggle... How much does a full metal jacket arrow cost, though?

I have always used carbon fiber arrow shaft to make my toggles. I am 200lbs and have never had an issue.

The one thing I thought about yesterday but have not tried yet, is the diameter question. I expect that a larger diameter toggle will produce a larger "knot" to hang the whoopie sling off of, which has an obvious benifit of making it less likely to slip off. What i also want to test is if the toggle diameger and the larger knot will increase the diameter of what the sling can grab, thereby not making the bend in the sling so harsh. Some of you might have seen another thread where some of us are talking about attachment point diameter and the effect it has on strength of the sling.

I'm planning on trying to test this somehow this weekend.

If you need to make a lot of toggles, like for a family or something, home depot has 1/2" OD aluminum with a 1/16" wall on the hardware isle where all the steel pieces are for about $10 for 36". That'd make 9 toggles or 4 sets and 1 spare @ 4" long

I've had very good luck with toggles made out of 1/2" cpvc pipe. It's light, cheap, and more than strong enough for this application.

I make mine from the scraps. The arrow length is longer than my draw length.
They weigh 11.3 grains per inch, heavy by arrow standards.
