DWR coated should be fine, but I don't think you would want waterproof for a hammock. I'll send you a pm with info on where I got it.

Nice job! Not many zipped buy nets on DIY hammocks, so an ambitious project.

When I've camped in 'real bug country', nothing but a zipped enclosure would do the job for me. One mosquito in my ear is enough to ruin the night!

And those 'North country' bugs are determined and hungry - if they can get through a tiny hole in the bug net, they can certainly get under/around a non-zipped net....IMO, IME.

    Good example.

I wish I could draw a picture. That way it would work great and be like a bean pod. It would also have the no see um built right in!
I know that with the tablecloth hammock crowd, if you get the 90" wide tablecloth you could probably do it. I'm 6'1", have a 90"x135" hammock and I could do exactly what you described. I'd probably sew up about 1ft on each end with some triangle scraps to reinforce and to shorten the length the zipper would need to be, but I could do it.

I agree. I've made a couple of those big TC hammocks and they could make a nice "Cocoon" for you. Awesome in the cooler months, but brutal in the hot summer months when you need a bug net most.
