Well, howdy!

I was introduced to hanging on a father/son mountain retreat a couple of years ago, and now that my son's motorcycle is reliable enough to ride into the hills, we're looking to try some camping.

No real idea what I'm doing ... I used to moto-camp as a younger, single guy, but I was a serious minimalist. Now that I'm 50, I need a bit more comfort. I also have a little more expendable cash, which will probably help.

I've been lurking, and figured it was time to poke my head up and say, Hi.

Welcome, James! I did my 1st overnight camp outs along with the other neighborhood kids- no adults- along the banks of the Chattahoochee River in Columbus GA in the 50s and 60s.

This will be a good place for you to learn what you need to get to transition to off the ground.
