The grain in these is absolutely beautiful. The randomness of the lines is intriguing. My wife is an artist, she does sculpture and really values this unique wood for bases for sculpture.

If the trees are no more than 4" in diameter, the branches are less likely to be dead, will gather less speed should they break, and will cause less damage to you if they fall on you.

I came across this one on a hike sometime this year. Looked like an old man with a long beard. I did a whole set of BW trees, they seem to get more scary in BW.
