    I thought I had it.......

I sat my SF up today to seam seal it, seemed to go well.....Ha ha ha.....seemed to go well..........thank you i will be here all day. I guess after it dries for a day or so and I get caught in a rain storm I will truly find out if it worked.

My thing is, my ridgeline sucks. I think I am done with the CRL and I am going to go to two separate lines on each end. My thought is I use a tarp flyz on each end and connect that way. This would ensure that I have some adjustability in the tarp if I want to move it, I don't know. Is this a bad idea?

I thought I had put this to rest but the tarp thing is harder than I once thought to get it the way I think it should be. Thanks in advance.

exactly what I do. I tried a CRL, but didn't get the tarp tight enough to withstand much wind (I thought....didn't try it). It is easy to move. Loosen one side, let it sag. Tighten the other.

Depends which CRL you use. I can get mine just as tight with my CRL as I can with two separate lines.

Tarp Flyz or Dutch Stingerz work great. I'm using the Stingerz personally right now.

There isn't a wrong way if you are happy... On the crl, try pulling on the tie out first, then tighten the prussic.. It will get as tight as you want it...
We would be one step closer to world peace, if everyone slept in a hammock..

I still have not sprung for a tarp yet.... which means all my overnight hammocking so far has been indoors and on clear nights.

Making a DIY DL soon. Then plan to get a tarp, then an UQ, then.....? something else will come up! it always does!

I really prefer just the two lines pulling out. There is a lot of fiddle factor with a CRL and it has more line to deal with and more connection points. Somehow my tarp twist itself in the stuff sack. I prefer to keep it simple.

Thanks everyone, the decision is made. After the seam sealant sets for a day or two I am going with two separate lines, as Dutch was saying it just seems to be much simpler that way. I have fiddled with the CRL since I started hammocking and I am ready to try something else. I already have the hardware from Dutch so it's just a matter of making it happen.

I have not said it in a while so here it goes....I LOVE THIS SITE!!!!! Thanks everyone.

I can still use my snakeskins right? I don't need a CRL to make that work.....right?
