Due to it being my birthday tomorrow, and needing some spending money I am offering 5% off the Wilderness Logics under quilts, both summer and winter series. All you have to do is type in the code: Birthday.

It ends on the 14th March Australian time.

    Hi Simon,

Handy little store you have there!

I'm looking to put some shock cord with cordlocks on the doors of my superfly. I'm not sure what the hammock communities technical term for this is because I'm pretty new to the scene but...

I'm wondering which is better to use w/ the shock cord? The 35c Mini cordlock or the 45c ITW Fastex Barreloc - small?

    Cheers

    G'day kwiktech,

I am not exactly sure what you are planning to do but the mini will just fit a single line of 3mm cord and the small will fit a single line of 3mm cord more comfortably. I have a largerr size cordlock, which I don't think has made it to the site yet, which will fit doubled up 3mm cord, which I use for the Fronkey nets.

Originally I had planed to use a 3' length of shockcord on all my superfly doors.

One end acting as a hook with an s biner or mitten hook and the other end being adjustable with the 3mm shockcord doubled through a larger cordlock like this.

But then I saw this and I like the convenience of having a hook on each end and it still being adjustable.

My only concern is the gripping strength of the cord locks on the shockcord while the cordlock is being used as a toggle.

I imagine the tighter fit of the mini would equal more strength but who knows? Maybe the fastex bareloc has a stronger spring?

If you could put each one on a piece of shockcord and toggle the locks between your fingers and pull to see which one looses grip first that would be great...

    hmmm I have 4 doors...

I guess you could send me one each of the small 3mm locks and one of the larger ones when they arrive. On the 4th door I could do prusik knot as the adjustment... R & D time

Sorry been a busy day getting ready to head off for a few days and whipping together a top quilt.

The mini lock definitely holds better on the 3mm cord. It's a tight fit but works.

I will get the large cord locks up on the site on the weekend.
