    How wide is your pad?

If you use one, that is...

    Just wondering

My Oware Plastizote is 40 inches wide, 60 inches long and 3/16 thick and only weighs 6 ounces trimmed at bottom. My winter Exped Down Air Mat Deluxe 9 is 26 inches wide and 76 inches long and is 2 lbs. 12 oz. Most people want pads that are about 25 inches wide or more to keep shoulders warmer.

I have a couple of the no-longer-available Gossamer Gear hammock pads that are really wide, maybe 32". I can't remember for sure. I also use a gren military CCF pad that is 25" wide.

sweet, thanks guys--I was just debating how wide I should cut my pad--have a piece of foam 60x72, so I could either make two pads 30x72 or two pads 36x60--I think I will go with 30 inches wide, that should work.

I am not sure how wide mine is, but I have an REI blue pad, that is wider than standard. It certainly allows for plenty of coverage in the hammock.

I use a 24" pad but place 4 8X14" pads wherever I need extra coverage.

Just wide enough, we cut ours to the shape of our bodies lying down
