Hat for using poles in porch mode

    Hey all,
The other day I was looking around at all the cottage vendors websites and came across a neat little item that is basically a small piece of material sewn to look like a hat, that sets over the handle end of your hiking pole when you use them to put your tarp in porch mode, and your guy lines are attached to those.

But I can not find them now. Anyone know what I'm talking about and can hook me up with a link?

When I'm in porch mode my pole is upside down with the hadle in then ground and the tip in the plastic d ring.
I'm not really understanding where the "hat" goes in there.
Are you rigging you porch differently?

I used to do the same as you, but when it rains, the strap gets muddy and soaked. It can also get kicked out unless you stake it to the ground somehow. And my cuben tarp doesn't have D rings.

I put the handle end up now. In the tieout end that I connect to the tarp, I've left a loop big enough to squeeze down over the handle. It works, but I know I can come up with something better. These little hats I've seen would weigh next to nothing, could be attached to the tarp and guy line permanently, would decrease setup time, be more secure and you could even tuck the handle strap up under the hat to keep it dry.

If I had a sewing machine I could make my own.

I Saw them too, recently while searching for a tarp. Unfortunately I can't recall where. A small cup of fabric that connected to the pullouts so your poles would not damage the tarp or slip.

Haven't seen what your talking about, butI think I get what your saying. AHE's snow anchors could do they same thing, and also use them in winter for stakes....

I'm sure someone around here wouldn't mind making your hat if you asked, many here talented with a sewing machine...

What if you ran the handle strap through the tieout, then placed a stick through it like a toggle, no need for extra gear...

I bought a set earlier this year...almost certain it was from arrowhead equipment.
