Planning to Hang in Prince William National Forest Setember 13th - 15th

Prince William National Forest has finally changed their no hammock rule and to celebrate, Old Mart and I will be hanging there Friday September 13th and Saturday September 14th. There is a primitive campsite area which is the C loop of the car camping area that they have closed to cars so you can park and walk in. It has become fairly overgrown and it is not crowded. The one rule on hammocks is that your tree staps must be 2 1/2 inches wide. Let me know if anyone is interested in joining us.

I'm checking my calendar. FYI the strap regulation is 1 1/2" unless they changed it again since April. I was there in May with Scouts and two of us leaders were hanging. It was nice. Some sites had great places for hammocks some not so. Are you talking Oak Ridge Camping Area? That's where we were. The bathhouse is closed but you could still drive in.

You are correct, it's 1 1/2 inch straps not 2 1/2. Yes Oak Ridge is the spot and it appears they have unblocked the c loop to traffic.

I just booked site C-15 and C-16 for Friday September 13th and Saturday September 14th. They only permit 2 hammocks per site and there are still adjoining sites available to the two I just booked. If you want to join us, you can reserve a site at this link.

I ordered 2" from strapworks.com. They shipped,pretty quickly.

From reading the other NOVA hang thread, is this a recon hang, or is this the official 2nd annual NOVA hang that happened last November?

I can't be there for the weekend of the 13th, but my November calendar is pretty open.

This is just a get together at PWNF. There will be another hang in Novemeber.
