Might be a sign that we've gone over the edge but here's a pic of the hammock stand that my son (Tinkr) and I made this summer using ideas we found on the forum:

here's the hammock that Tinkr made me for Father's Day. DL 1.6 Grey ripstop with a knotty mod with orange shock cord and a removable orange dynaglide ridge line and black ridge line organizer. This thing is super comfortable and only 22 oz in it's stuff sack. Still like my WBBB and XLC but this one is awesome, thanks Buddy

Finally the new no-sew pole mod from instructions found here on the forum that I did on my winter tarp (WB Superfly). Easy to do and really opens the tarp up nicely:

Thanks for looking! Have a great holiday weekend.

Looks great!! My stuff to do the pole mod will be here this week. I am so pumped, that really opens it up.

I think we have about $120 in materials for the stand. Ripstop was $20 from DIY supply. THe tarp mod cost about $40 for everything.

Thanks, Red. My son has all the sewing skills though. The thread injector is still mystical to me sort of like a unicorn

Think you going to be surprised how easy this is and how well it works. The most difficult part was finding a punch in order to set the grommets.

Brandon does make a nice tarp doesn't he? Not the lightest option but great coverage for winter or car camping
