I have about 12.5 feet of line on each side.. that seems like plenty in the big trees up here in Oregon. It also allows me to add some more line if needed.

I personally have never seen the appeal of a CRL. And I've never understood why some people think it's difficult to center the tarp without one. I've always used two lines and have never had the first issue with centering. I used to use prussiks which makes it just like a CRL just in two pieces. Now I use mini line locs or munter hitches instead of the prussiks.

Plus, you can get the tarp pitched just as tight as with two separate lines.

I started with a CRL, switched to two lines, then switched back to the adjustable CRL as show in the link above. With an 11' hammock and a normal length tarp, sometimes I have to make some adjustments. This set-up makes it very easy.

I hear ya fiveo, I did the continuous line thing up until this past spring. My tarp goes up way faster now.

Sorry I hadn't posted on this thread in a while guys. I was supposed to post pictures wasn't i? Sorry.

The two lines are working much better, the whole system for me is just better. I have 15' lines on both sides, seems to be plenty but when I discontinued the CRL I was using a 30' piece, I just cut it in to.

would like to see that one. Does it work well? Next question is what kind of line are you guys using? I use a CRL on my current tarp like Derek's vid with a fly and hook but find the hook a pain to unhook from the tarp so looking to do two lines and try something different the flyz idea interests me will stingers make it easier to setup?

I have always used separate lines and see no need to change.
