A friend of mine has a nice military surplus mummy bag. Hes looking to convert it to an UQ.
I feel like I remember seeing a thread on exactly that but my searching is coming up null.

BTW, when I was a kid in CubScouts (in the 1950s) I spent a few nights in a military 'down' sleeping bag - smelly and heavy! Never again!
I also (helped my wife when she) built a couple of Frostline down sleeping bags in the 70s - it's a lot of work. I'll leave the down work to real enthusiasts nowadays.
