I am 6' 2" and 265 lbs. Does anyone think I would be pushing the weight limit on a Hennessy Explorer Ultralite? I am loosing weight and plan to be below 250. I got a Explorer Deluxe before for the higher limit, but would like to save some weight on my new hammock.

I personally would'nt use it above the weight limit but here is a suggestion: Go ahead and buy the Explorer Ultralight and use it as motivation on your weight loss plan. Good luck with that weight loss.Originally Posted by hawkeye

Most manufacturers understate what their gear is capable of holding for safety/liability reasons. My BULA is rated to 200 lbs and I've had about 250 lbs in it when my son crawls in with me. Plus gear hanging from the supports.
I don't think 15 lbs is gonna make a difference.

IMPOSSIBLE JUST TAKES LONGER
You will not be happy in it....at 6-2 you'll be too tall for the optimum posn....plus you will always worry about thefact that you are 30+ percent over the rated capacity.... you are not talking 10-20 pound issue...and that material is a lot lighter than BUL model.
You should look for a Explorer UL at your size....

Hennessy lists clearance items on his site. Slight seconds, returns and whatnot. A couple of the lists have been posted here (check the archives) but I'm not sure how current they are.
