Porch mode, Warm hang Life is good

3 day's off, hmmm.. what to do.. CAMP!!!.

Found two tree's 18 feet apart ( +,- a Pine cone Or yellow jacket taking up space.) Poor other Dirt nappers, slept on ground or a cot. Whine whine whine, They tested the hang. Failed to see the true Joy of the hang, Eh.. I am cozy that is all what counts!!...

HOT weather 85-90 degree's, nights dropped down to a warm 60- 68 degree's. Hung Hammock, and Did not want pine cones, bugs to drop during the night.. Placed the super-fly in Porch mode & up higher.. Worked like a champ.. and had nice breeze whipping through.

Only Fear during the hang, was every so often would move in my sleep. Then Feel & Hear a BURP slippage!!.. WIDE AWAKE.. froze Waiting for Impact soon to come.. Nadda.. Hmmm.. wiggle wiggle.. nothing. back to sleep.. BURP.. hmmmm.. Did see, I had lowered down few inches.. guessing normal.. Slow thump, is better then Fast Thump!..

Guessing slippage in the whoopie slings?. OR straps shifting?. Or toggle knots slowing slipping?. Dunno, going to Loop the extra cords around To secure just in case. Next time, I Hang.

Not the best photo. Too busy either swingin the breeze or exploring.

Sidearm on Ridge-line, mini-lantern, Headbone lamp.. Coffee mug in boot, for easy sipping. ;-)

Could you detail your suspension more? Are the whoopies purchased or DIY?

If it is a polyester strap around the tree. With a MSH to a toggle. Whoopie sling round the toggle. Whoopie sling larks headed to hammock. I would guess the whoopie is slipping. I had the same problem with my first set of UCRs. You need to make sure the splice is stretched out all the way so it is tight on the inner rope. Sometimes called "milking the bury." If you did this and/or doing this doesn't solve the problem you may need to make a longer bury in your whoopies.

Used a climbing Strap, for tree's. With a Larks head.. If that is correct. With a Climbing Biner For the toggle.

whoopies are DIY, and bury's are 10-12inches I went longer.. since, it's the first. Next time will take sharpie, and make a dot on thread. To see if slippage in whoopies.

Going to Over secure, next time.. Just incase.

You can also make a slippery half hitch with the extra line to "secure" the line. It keeps it from going back in, just in case.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you

Did you secure the line around the knot? Or clip to to the carabinier? If around the knot then maybe you didn't "milk the bury." All of your system seem correct.

I use the biner as my secure hook up with the whoopies. More I think about it.. adding another knot with the extra line.. is simple. and creates another drip line..

    each hang learn something new..
