DIY GearSupply Winter Tarp with Exped Touches

Here are a few pics of my recently-completed tarp. I followed the plans posted by Scott at the DIY Gear Supply website.
    http://www.backwoodsdaydreamer.com/w...inter-Tarp.jpg

I also purchased all the materials from DIYGearSupply - excellent service to Canada with honest shipping costs.
    30d Silnylon seconds.
Seams (ridge and pullout reinforcements) sealed with Permatex Windshield sealant

There are lots of pitching options, which I like.

Pitched tight to the ground, you'd have about 42" height at the ridge if the tarp was set to maximize the width at the closed doors. If the ends were 'pulled out' and the tarp pitched narrower, you'd have more headroom.

Tarp and guys (ridgeline + 4 main side guys) pack into a stuffsac which could be as small as 6" diameter x 10" long. I made the sac over-long.
Total weight in the sac is 28 oz.

I added some details to the project tarp, which I copied from my Exped Ergo Combi tarp.

Extra loops at ridgeline for pitching in narrow spots.
Extra loops on 'door' panel bottom for overlapping the doors if wanted.
Webbing ridgeline tensioners - flat elastic inside webbing.
    LineLoc tensioners
Toggles at the ends of the ridge lines
    Mesh pockets for guy storage

That looks fantastic....hmmm a winter project in the works for me.....hmmm...maybe.

Nice work and great details on your tarp. You should be proud of that one.

Thanks for the kind words, guys.

I really enjoy sewing stuff (from time to time) but there is a limit to how much gear I need...or is there??
