There are a lot of people hunting here now. Bow season opened on the 5th and small game on the 15th. It isn't like it used to be. Hunters used to wait and see the full target before shooting. These days! Well you know how it is. And there are a lot of wild dogs around here that hunters will shoot just for the sake of shooting one. Hard to tell the difference between a wild dog and a $2000 bird dog if it isn't wearing a vest.
I know that a doggie vest hasn't got anything to do with a hammock but if your out camping in your hammock and you dog is the sort to go out sniffing around like mine does, he/she should be wearing a safety vest this time of year. Unless you live in the burbs, I guess. It isn't uncommon to hear lots of gun shots practically in my back yard around here.

    Useful video. Thanks.

I was given a couple of spare hi-viz (human) vests over the summer. I'm looking at modifying one to fit our 70 lb dog.

Unfortunately we have a real poaching problem in southern Manitoba. Lots of forest roads and folk hunting from vehicles driving along the roads. Wind down the window and blast away at anything that moves. Not helped by the 12 pack of Bud open in the cab. Completely illegal and incredibly dangerous but with so few resource officers around they are unlikely to be caught.

There are definitely some areas we avoid for the next couple of months.

Unfortunately there's some of that around here. Where i live is a destination for Elk and Deer hunters. Unfortunately too many of them are idiots.
