Uncomfortable hang, trying to figure out why

I've been too busy this summer to get out and try my hammock for camping. Hung it up last night in the basement to see how sleeping is going to be for my fall backpacking trip. With no ridgeline, I found the center material was pretty tight, with the sides looser. Had a hard time settling in as it felt like I was going to fall out.
any thoughts on what could be the issue? Didn't feel like this when I test hung it in April. I need to get everything in check and good to go for the end of the month. Doing 4 nights in super rough terrain.

It's a double down deluxe btw.

For consistency, a structural ridgeline would help. Your test hang felt ok so that leads me to believe this most recent attempt resulted in a different sag than last time. Experiment with changing your sags and make sure to lay diagonal.

I figure I have a greater sag then the previous but was more wondering about how and if anyone has seen the material get tighter in the center of the hammock. I'm thinking the end bunching might be messd up, but wanted to see if i made a common enough mistake this round.
I'm adding a ridgeline as soon as the order comes in.

Before I put in a ridgeline, if I hung mine too tight (read not enough sag) I would find the middle to be like a banjo string while the sides flopped around. I put in a ridgeline, set it to approximately 30 degrees, and that problem was addressed.

Did you undo then redo the end channels?

Try setting up with the foot end higher than the head end. It tends to make things more comfortable.

I have not undone the end channels.
I did try stretching it out between further pilers reducing the sag a lot and that helped. The center tension was still there, but much more manageable.
Definitely too much material in the double down deluxe. Will address that and the rigging another time as I don't have much time between job searching, kids and renos.

anchor points arent at the right height. i had this same issue when i hung from the rafters in my garage. You should lower the anchor points and that should do the trick

Sag is your friend. Remember, 15 feet spacing 6 feet in height and you should be very close to the 30 degree optimum angle.

I have experience this at times and blame it on end orientation --bunching or whatever. Now, when it doesn't feel quite right, I usually unhook and play with the bunching on the ends...seems to work fine then.
